Reserves Hit the Top - Ipswich Town News
Town's reserves climbed to the top of the Pontin's Holidays Combination League East Division with a 1-0 victory at Stevenage Borough's Broadhall Way. Danny Haynes scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 38th minute.
The Blues included three of the current trialists in their starting line-up. Bury Town central defender Ian Miller was again impressive, while Njazi Kuqi missed a number of chances, as he did in the testimonial on Saturday.
Former Canary Phil Mulryne put in a sound display in front of Town manager Jim Magilton, but the stand-out man for the Blues was midfielder Sammy Moore, who carried on from his promising second half display in Saturday's match.
Town: Supple, Synnott, Casement, Miller, Barron, Brittain (Upson 75), Mulryne (Reason 75), Moore, Knights, Kuqi (Leabon 60), Haynes. Unused: Plummer, Short.
