Birmingham to Face FA Wrath - Ipswich Town News

Birmingham are set to face the wrath of the FA over the repeated pitch invasions during last week's Worthington Cup semi-final and St Andrew's. Birmingham fans invaded the pitch after each goal and at the end of the game much to the annoyance of referee Jeff Winter.

Winter has included the incidents in his match report and the FA are almost certain to take action of some sort. The most draconian move they can take is to expel the Brummies from the competition, however this is reckoned to be an unlikely occurence.

An FA spokesperson said: "Our powers in these situations are wide-ranging. The referee mentioned the incident in his report which was passed on to our crowd control unit."

Birmingham's off-field record has improved in recent years, although they found themselves in a great deal of hot water in previously, particularly in relation to incidents in games with West Ham, and Leeds.

With Mauricio Taricco's passport being looked into by the FA we thought it might be an idea to look back on the Town career of the plucky Argentinian. What did you make to his spell with the Blues? How upset were you when he left? Would you want him back? Check the link at http://www.twtd.co.uk/messages from 11.30 am.
