Miller Signing Confirmed - Ipswich Town News

The Blues have confirmed that Bury Town central defender Ian Miller has signed a contract until June 2007. TWTD was first to reveal that the 22-year-old was joining Town on trial.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site that Miller impressed while with the first team squad having first caught the eye in the pre-season friendly between the two clubs: "Ian has done well while he has been training here and we're delighted to have him on board.

"He has got a great attitude to the game and is a good talker, which seems to be a dying art in football now. He's quick and reads situations very well.

"He played well for Bury against our reserves in pre-season and I have liked what I have seen of him ever since.

"The last lad the club got from Bury didn't do too badly, Simon Milton. Ian wants to follow in Milts's footsteps and we are going to give him the chance."

Town paid Bury a small fee and will the first team will play a friendly at Ram Meadow next summer. The initial one-year deal will be extended should Miller continue to impress.

The transfer window does not apply to clubs lower than the Conference, so Miller, nicknamed Dusty while with the Ryman Football League club, is available for selection straight away.
