Borington Cup News - Ipswich Town News

Town travel to Crewe this evening to take on Dario Gradi's side in the Worthington Cup. George Burley is the latest in a line of managers to use the competition to give some of his first team a bit of a rest. Jim Magilton and Mickey Stockwell seem likely to start after appearing as second half substitutes on Saturday. Manu Thetis, back from suspension also seems likely to be in the side. Town have an injury worry over David Johnson and he may be another one to sit tonight out. Jermaine Wright will be playing his first game against his former club.

David Johnson may be set to ditch his Jamaican international career. Last week's trip to the US with the Reggae Boyz left Johnno tired after a long flight and he may now pledge himself to one of the home countries. Because he was born in Jamaica, but holds a UK passport he is elegible for any of the home countries. He has played B internationals for England and has been approached by Northern Ireland in the past.
