Stewart Slams Harte! - Ipswich Town News

Marcus Stewart has slammed Leeds' Ian Harte for his theatrics in the incident which led to the Town striker receiving the red card. Town fans showed their disapproval at Harte's behaviour on the day with boos ringing around the ground every time he touched the ball.

It was clear that Stewart had made very minimal contact but Harte flew into the air and rolled around histrionically.

The Premiership's leading scorer said: "Harte acted like he had broken his leg, I wouldn't have done it to a fellow professional. At the time I wasn't sure whether I had caught him but having looked at the video you can see that I haven't."

A clearly not pleased Stewart continued: "I am angry and disappointed at his behaviour, I didn't think players acted like that in this country. I deserved a booking, the referee didn't make the decision it was the linesman’s fault, he said it was a red card."

It seems likely that Stewart will get his red card overturned, however it remains to be seen whether any action is taken against the Leeds' defender for his behaviour.
