Town boss Jim Magilton is keen on taking Manchester United youngster Jonny Evans on loan in January, according to reports in Northern Ireland. The 18-year-old central defender is currently on a loan spell with Royal Antwerp in Belgium.
Evans has emerged as one of the stars of Lawrie Sanchez's Northern Ireland side, impressing while playing out of position at left-back in the victories over Spain and Latvia and the 0-0 draw with Denmark. Magilton has seen all those games in his role as a pundit for BBC Northern Ireland.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane is also said to be interested in taking the Belfast-born player on loan when his spell in Belgium ends in January.
