Boss Jim Magilton has again named a 21-man squad as he prepares for Tuesday's home game with Preston North End (KO 7.45pm). Magilton will again make changes after Saturday's dismal 5-1 home defeat to West Brom.
Magilton has revealed he will stick with keeper Lewis Price, who couldn't be faulted on any of the five goals on Saturday, although at times the Wales international struggled with his kicking.
Defensively, Magilton is likely to move Alex Bruce away from the right-back area into the centre of the defence alongside Jason De Vos, with Richard Naylor dropping to the bench. Fabian Wilnis will probably return to his right-sided role, although Sito may also be considered.
The Town boss could hand a first start to Martin Brittain on the right of the midfield, while Matt Richards could return on the left with Mark Noble joining Simon Walton in the middle. Darren Currie and Sylvain Legwinski are likely to be left out after disappointing displays against West Brom and Colchester.
Up front, Clarke is expected to be rested after playing the full 90 minutes on Saturday with Jon Macken returning to the starting line-up alongside Alan Lee.
The Blues suffered no new injury problems against West Brom and Owen Garvan (post-viral syndrome) and Gavin Williams (groin surgery) are the only unavailable players. Garvan is making progress in the right direction, albeit slowly, while Williams is ahead of schedule after his operation.
Preston boss Paul Simpson expects to face a Town side stung by Saturday's defeat: "They'll be looking for a reaction after a disappointing result at the weekend so we know we're going to have to be on our game again and carry on where we left off against Sunderland [who they beat 4-1 on Saturday].
"It will have hurt their pride, I'm sure there'll be changes and they'll want to put on a better performance so we'll be focussed on what we want to do and make sure we're not the team that give them a lift.
"We're just going to go and play the way we want to play and hopefully get the right result."
Frontman Patrick Agyemang is out of Simpson's side due to a hip injury, but midfielder Alan McCormack is OK after a hamstring problem. One-time Town loan target Neil Mellor and defender Youl Mawene are long-term absentees with knee injuries.
Tuesday's referee is Paul Melin from Surrey who has shown 24 yellow and two red cards in his eight games so far this season. His last Town match was the 3-0 home defeat to Reading last November.
Town will again be looking for their 3,000th home goal as a professional club, Chris Perry's own goal at the weekend having taken the total to 2,999.
