Knights Linked to Torquay - Ipswich Town News

Reserves striker Darryl Knights is again being linked with a loan move to Torquay United. Knights is in need of first team experience having so far failed to add to his single sub appearance at Sunderland in November 2004.

Meanwhile, Martin Brittain made his debut for new loan side Yeovil in their 2-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Shrewsbury on Tuesday, impressing manager Russell Slade: "The positives are that Martin Brittain came on, had the beating of the full-back and looked comfortable on the ball.

"He's got that bit of pace and made a quality contribution in the 30 minutes he was on the pitch."

Dean Bowditch made his Brighton debut as a 62nd minute sub in their 4-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over the MK Dons. Bowditch's display impressed the Brighton Rivals site BHAFC.net who gave his performance seven marks, describing it as a "very promising start".

Meanwhile, the Town pitch could be relaid again next summer. The summer problems with salt getting into the water table are still having an effect on the surface, which was relaid after the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in July.

The hot summer also contributed to the pitch's problems and the club have consulted various experts as they seek to get it back to its normal award-winning standard.

If no solution is found, then the surface will be relaid once more after next summer's planned two concerts.
