Clarke a Doubt - Ipswich Town News

Striker Billy Clarke has emerged as an injury concern ahead of Saturday's game at Burnley due to a knee problem. Loanee frontman Jon Macken is also a worry with the hamstring injury which has forced him to miss the last two matches.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Billy has picked up a little niggle in his knee and we will have to see how it is.

"He didn't feel anything after the game at Plymouth, but it's now a little sore and we will probably keep him out of training and make a late call on his fitness."

Even if Clarke fails to make it Macken is unlikely to take his place due to his hamstring problem: "It's still troubling him. Jon's had a little setback and we will have another look at him on Friday with a view to the weekend."

The injuries to Clarke and Macken could open the way for Danny Haynes or Gary Roberts at Turf Moor. Haynes has just returned from an excellent loan spell at Millwall, while Roberts, primarily a left winger, had made a prolific start to the season playing up front for Accrington Stanley prior to his loan move to Portman Road.
