Town Name New Director - Ipswich Town News

Town have announced the addition of Peter Cohen to the board. The long-time supporter of the club is the chief executive of the PHS Group.

Chairman David Sheepshanks says he is pleased to make Cohen the 11th current director of the club: "I am delighted to welcome Peter to the board. He grew up in Suffolk and has a house in Diss.

"He has been a lifelong supporter of the club and brings to the board an exceptional business acumen.

"He has invested in shares and, like all of us, he is very keen to help this club get back to the top flight.”

Cohen says he has been supporting the club for 35 years: "I am very pleased to be joining the board of the club I have followed since I was a boy.

"I will do my best to contribute to the objective of all of us, which is to return Ipswich to the Premier League as soon as possible.”

The new director has been with PHS, a leader in the field of workplace service provision, since 1998. Before that he was chief executive at Holt Lloyd Group Limited and prior to that managing director of Crompton Vidor Limited, having held a similar role at Hawker Siddeley Dynamics Engineering.

Cohen is likely to be one of the new significant investors chief executive Derek Bowden recently confirmed had come forward during the summer share issue.

Town's 3,000-plus shareholders should receive their copies of the club's annual report and accounts later this week ahead of the AGM, which will be held at Portman Road on December 6th.
