Competitions Latest - Ipswich Town News

TWTD's competitions to win copies of Dean Hayes's new book The Who's Who of Ipswich Town and the PC/Mac version of Football Manager 2007 are still running.

To win one of two copies of Hayes's new book answer the following questions.

1 Which Town legend's middle name is Lazenby?

2 Which Town legend's middle name is Winans?

3 Which Town legend's middle name is Lorne?

Send your answers to bookcompetition@twtd.co.uk before Monday, November 20th.

Hayes's book details the career of every single Town player, whether a household name or men who made only a handful of appearances at Portman Road. The book is highly illustrated throughout and statistics are included to supplement the career details of the players.

You can also still get your hands on one of five copies of the PC/Mac version of Football Manager 2007, an FM2007 T-shirt or one of five pens!

All you have to do is answer the following two questions correctly, and send your answer to fmquiz@twtd.co.uk before November 13th.

1 Which former Town striker claimed to have picked up an injury whilst in a supermarket, but actually acquired the knock when in a betting shop?

2 Who was the author of the original Football Manager game for the ZX Spectrum in 1982?

If you aren't lucky enough to win a copy of the game, you can order yours via our new TWTD Media Store, courtesy of Amazon.

Football Manager 2007 is the next instalment in the eagerly anticipated and genre-defining series by developers Sports Interactive, allowing players to take charge of their favourite club in a bid to guide them to glory!

For the first time users can strike partnerships with affiliate clubs, give pre-match team-talks and interact with their players on a completely new level. On top of this both the youth team and scouting features have enjoyed complete revamps.

The demo provides a great opportunity for players to test their managerial skills whilst sampling first hand the wealth of new features that acclaimed developers Sports Interactive have included to make Football Manager 2007 the most user friendly version of Football Manager to date.

To find out more information on Football Manager 2007, or to try the demo, visit the official site at www.footballmanager.net now.

You can also purchase The Who's Who of Ipswich Town at the TWTD Media Store for the bargain price of £16.14.

The Media Store is ideal for avoiding all that annoying pre-Christmas wandering about town centres in the cold. In addition to Hayes's book, Alan Brazil's autobiography There's an Awful Lot of Bubbly in Brazil and Leo McKinstry's excellent biography of Sir Alf Ramsey Sir Alf: A Major Reappraisal of the Life and Times of England's Greatest Football Manager are both available at bargain prices.

Town fans may also be interested in Peter Swan's new book, Setting the Record Straight, his account of the match he and two Sheffield Wednesday team-mates agreed to fix at Portman Road on Saturday, 1st December 1962 and its aftermath, while a DVD of the 1978 FA Cup final is a must.

Aside from Football Manager 2007, there are also new versions of Championship Manager and FIFA Manager.

But it's not just football stuff in the TWTD Media Store, there's also the new Ipswich version of Monopoly.

You could even splash out on the latest electronic goods like the Xbox 360 Console, an iPod or Sat Nav.

There's plenty more available at the TWTD Media Store which is available on the main menu of the TWTD website.

Our competition to win tickets to An Audience With Jimmy Greaves at the Corn Exchange is over and was won by Steve Botwright from Kidderminster, who correctly said that Tottenham paid AC Milan £99,999 for the striker. Spurs boss Bill Nicholson didn't want Greaves to have the burden of being the first £100,000 player.

The England legend will be in town on Thursday, 14th December along with his agent Terry Baker and a special guest.

Tickets to the event are still available and cost £16.50 or £14.50 for concessions and are available online here.
