Jim to Change Personnel - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton blamed his players for a lack of responsibility and vowed to make changes after the Blues' 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Magilton said: "We started the game very bright and passed the ball very well and looked very confident, and then from our set-play they broke and people did not take responsibility.

"We then got back into the game and had two great chances and if we had taken them it could have been a different game. We should have gone in level at half-time.

"Unfortunately we did not have enough people with the desire to put the ball in the net and then from another set-piece they had a free header to score their second goal.

"What is worrying is that we did not have people taking responsibility when it really mattered.

"We have had people here for a number of years who have had an opportunity to play and we keep conceding goals and it is now a case of changing personnel."

New Owls boss Brian Laws was pleased with his first game in charge: "It was the perfect start. Any manager will tell you when he takes over at a club his first points in the bag are the most important and to get them away at Ipswich is never easy.

"We allowed Ipswich some good chances in the first half, but we rode our luck and in the second half we limited them to minimal efforts, particularly in the last 20 minutes.

"The second goal was always going to be key and it was a magnificent set-play.”
