Donachie Millwall Boss - Ipswich Town News

Former Town assistant manager Willie Donachie has been confirmed as the new boss at Millwall. Donachie had been caretaker-manager since the departure of Nigel Spackman earlier in the season.

Lions chairman Stewart Till said: "We knew Willie would prove a safe pair of hands because he is a vastly-experienced coach and assistant, but we wanted to be certain he was the right man to take charge in the long term."

Meanwhile, Town boss Jim Magilton is now the 10th longest serving manager in the Championship after Barnsley's sacking of Andy Ritchie yesterday.

Magilton, appointed on June 5th this year, is only behind Steve Bruce, Birmingham City (appointed: 01/12/2001), Mike Newell, Luton Town (01/06/2003), Steve Tilson, Southend United (01/11/2003), Steve Cotterill, Burnley (03/06/2004), Micky Adams, Coventry City (21/01/2005), Dave Jones, Cardiff City (25/05/2005), George Burley, Southampton (23/12/2005), Rob Kelly, Leicester City (25/01/2006), Billy Davies, Derby County (02/06/2006).
