Currie Loan Confirmed - Ipswich Town News

Darren Currie's long anticipated loan move to Coventry City has been confirmed by Town. The 31-year-old, whose contract is up next summer, has moved to the Sky Blues on loan until January with a view to the switch becoming permanent.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Darren is joining Coventry on loan until January and then we'll see what develops from there.

"I have spoken to Darren throughout the season and I know that he wants to be playing regular first team football.

"I can fully understand that and wasn't any different as a player myself, but I told Darren that I couldn't guarantee him a place in the side.

"We've got players coming back from injury and Gary Roberts has come into the side and done well, so I told him that I wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to go out on loan.

"He goes to Coventry with our best wishes and we'll see how things develop from there."
