Krause Wants New Deal - Ipswich Town News

Defender James Krause says he is determined to use his two-month loan spell at Carlisle to win himself a new deal with Town. Krause ,19, joined the Cumbrians earlier this week.

Carlisle boss Neil McDonald has suggested the move could become a permanent one, but at the moment the left-back or central defender is only looking at a short stay at Brunton Park: "I wouldn't rule out anything because anything can happen in football, but I want to earn a new contract with Ipswich.

"My contract is up at the end of the season and I would like to try to earn a new deal by doing well at Carlisle.

"I came up for a couple of days last week to see what they thought of me and what I thought of them. I was really impressed with everything. I want to help Carlisle and try to push them into the play-offs.

"I've seen what a good club it is and the way they play football. I like to play football and the pitch is one of the best I've ever seen.

"I've got to try to win my place here and hopefully stay in the team. Ipswich are monitoring the situation with my contract running out and we'll see what happens after this two-month loan.

"Ipswich is where I would like to try to move my career forward but if that doesn't happen it is good to have other options. I'm here for two months but that can be extended.

"Ipswich want me to get match experience and experience in league football. The Ipswich manager brought lots of new players and it is harder to get in the team.”

Correction to our earlier story, Michael McIndoe's loan move yesterday was away from Barnsley to Wolves and not into their squad ahead of Saturday's game.
