Roberts: I'll Sign - Ipswich Town News

On-loan midfielder Gary Roberts says he will make his move to Portman Road permanent in January. The Accrington Stanley man has been with the Blues since October.

Roberts said: "I'm sure in my mind that I want to stay here. I love it here and it is just a matter of time before I will sign. It is just a case of sorting the details out.”

Boss Jim Magilton was pleased with the prospective Welsh international's performance at Cardiff on Saturday and says he will do everything he can to secure his services long-term when the transfer window opens: "Gary was excellent again. He got on the ball well and he looked a real threat every time he went forward.

"The simple fact is I'm delighted to have him here at this club and we'll definitely want to keep him when the loan deal ends next month.

"We've already spoken to Accrington and hopefully we can get it sorted. And if somebody else comes in, I'll belt them and kill them!”

Town have already paid Stanley a five-figure loan fee and are likely to have to find another £200,000 to ensure Roberts's permanent move in January.
