Walton Exit Expected - Ipswich Town News
Boss Jim Magilton says he expects Simon Walton to return to Charlton when his loan ends on January 3rd. The midfielder recently said that Addicks manager Les Reed had told him he would be in his plans for the remainder of the season.
Magilton told the club site: "I'd like to keep Simon. He's a very good young player and I have been impressed with what he has brought to the club.
"But, although I've not spoken directly to Charlton, all the noises we are hearing say they want him back.
"I can understand that given their predicament in the Premiership at the moment, so it looks as though he'll be returning to them in January."
Magilton says he has still not given up hope of Mark Noble returning for a second loan spell: "Bringing Mark back here is an option we are definitely looking at."
