Yeovil to Keep Brittain? - Ipswich Town News

Yeovil Town are keen to extend Blues midfielder Martin Brittain's stay at Huish Park until the end of the season. The 22-year-old has been on loan with the Glovers since October and boss Russell Slade will speak to Jim Magilton about keeping the winger for a longer spell.

The former Newcastle man has made nine starts and one sub appearance while with the Somerset club. His only Town outing came from the bench in the Carling Cup tie at Peterborough in August.

Boss Jim Magilton is reported to have agreed to central defender Ian Miller extending his loan at Boston United. The former Bury Town man has impressed in his 10 appearances for the Pilgrims.

Meanwhile, Cardiff City are reported to have attempted to hijack Town's move for Gary Roberts. The Blues have tied up the £200,000 permanent signing of the former Accrington Stanley man, but the Bluebirds are understood to have approached the League Two side prior to the deal being settled. Roberts has signed a contract which will keep him at Portman Road until 2010.

Elsewhere, former Blue Darren Bent is out for four weeks after picking up a knee injury. The striker is a rumoured January target of a number of Premiership clubs with the Blues receiving 20% of any profit Charlton make on the £2.6 million they have so far paid the Blues for the England striker.

And in showbiz, former Town defender Jason Cundy and his wife Lizzie, a model and actress, are reported to have been signed up for Celebrity Big Brother, which starts on Wednesday.
