Town have been reveled as top of another League, although it is doubtful that George Burley or David Sheepshanks will be celebrating this one. Researchers into cigarette piracy counted the number of discarded packets outside grounds after matches. Portman Road had the largest percentage at 41%.

Apparently the Tobacco Manufacturers' Association (TMA) is trying to persuade the Government to change its policy on cigarette duty and is citing these results as an example of the number of people trying to get round duty. David Swan who is the TMA's chief executive said: "Millions of smokers are understandably rebelling against the soaring price of cigarettes due to UK tobacco tax, which is now the highest in the world."

Cigarette-smoking Town fans clearly have an eye for a bargain, although TWTD, non-smokers to a man and woman, would like to distance itself from this sort of behaviour.
