Winters Linked - Ipswich Town News
SK Brann striker Robbie Winters is the latest striker to be linked with a January move to the Blues. The 32-year-old Scot is available on a free transfer and is keen to leave his Norwegian club with a number of sides apparently interested.
Winters started his career with Dundee United, moving on to Aberdeen and then Luton where he made one appearance in a short spell during 2002, joining Brann soon after.
The East Kilbride-born striker, 5ft 10in tall, has become a big favourite with fans of the Bergen-based club but wants to move back to the UK for family reasons. Rated by some as the best player in Norwegian football, Winters has scored 51 goals in 123 appearances in his four-and-a-half-years in Scandinavia.
In addition to Town, Cardiff City, Sheffield Wednesday and Derry City are all reported to be interested, while the one-time Scotland international is set for a trial spell at Oldham this month along with Brann team-mate Charlie Miller.
La Liga club Gimnastic de Tarragona are also reported to be interested in the Scottish duo.
