Williams: I Want to Stay - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Gavin Williams says he wants to stay at Portman Road despite being made available to other clubs by manager Jim Magilton. The Welsh international says his form has been affected by the speculation over his future in the wake of the Amsterdam trip.
Williams said: "It would be a disaster to me if I was to go. The issue has been playing on my mind and affecting my form.
"I now want to forget all about it - and concentrate on the big games that await Ipswich Town.”
Williams admitted over the weekend that it is off-field issues which have led to Magilton's decision to allow him to leave, the unauthorised Dutch trip triggering the manager's decision.
The Welshman has been linked with a return to Wales with Cardiff or Swansea with a £500,000 price put on his head.
