Walters Contract Agreed - Ipswich Town News
Town have confirmed their move for Chester City striker Jon Walters. The 23-year-old has agreed a contract until 2010 and only a medical now stands in the way of his move to Portman Road.
Blues boss Jim Magilton first noticed the former Irish U21 striker during the two cup ties between the sides earlier this month and talks have been ongoing throughout the week.
The fee is officially undisclosed but we understand that Town will pay an initial fee of £150,000 which could rise to £250,000 on appearances and goals, with the League Two side receiving 20% of any profit the Blues make on the former Blackburn trainee.
