Reuser New Worry for Town - Ipswich Town News

Martijn Reuser has joined the list of Town's ill and injured after picking up a calf problem in training today. He is thought to be doubtful for Saturday's game with Everton.

Also doubtful is Hermann Hreidarsson who trained today, but Town may not risk him. George Burley said: "With hamstring injuries you have to be sensible or you could be out for another five weeks."

Gary Croft is out with his medial ligament problem while Richard Naylor is absent with another knee problem. The Town manager said that as yet they are unsure whether this problem is anything to do wuth his recent fracture or the previous knee injuries which he had operations on in the summer. Naylor is set to see a specialist next week and will find out what the problem is then.

John Scales also misses out with his hamstring problem.

On the plus side Alun Armstrong is back in the reckoning after suffering a back problem in training at the end of last week. Fabian Wilnis is also available again after his hamstring problem.

Illness victims Matt Holland and Mark Venus are both back to health, although Venus has missed a week and a half's training. They had been suffering from flu.

As for suspensions John McGreal is back, but Marcus Stewart misses out the first of his three games.

With the squad depleted there may be opportunities for youngsters to get a run-out as sub. The front runner amongst these is Nabil Abidallah, George Burley said of the young Dutchman: "It's a question of timing. He's done well in the reserves and I wouldn't be worried about putting him in. He has the ability and is level-headed."
