No Currie LA Exit - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Darren Currie has dismissed reports linking him with MLS side the LA Galaxy. The out-of-favour 32-year-old says he is not in talks with any club at present, despite reports of interest from Championship leaders Derby County.

Currie says a weekend newspaper report claiming he was set to team-up with Frank Yallop and David Beckham in the summer is news to him: "I wish! There has certainly been no contact with LA Galaxy or, for that matter, any other club.”

The winger was linked with former loan club Coventry, Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and Brighton during the transfer window but no move materialised.

Currie could leave Portman Road on loan for the remainder of the season or the Blues could settle his contract.

The former Barnet and Wycombe man joined Town from Brighton for £250,000 in December 2004, making 88 appearances and scoring nine goals.
