First team coach Bryan Klug had no argument with Owen Garvan's second half red card during the Blues' 2-0 home defeat to Leicester. Boss Jim Magilton missed the post-match press conference as he was catching a plane to Belfast.
Klug said that official Carl Boyeson was right to send off the Irish youngster: "That's something Owen's got to learn about and I thought the referee got it spot on.”
The former academy head was disappointed that the Blues again conceded from corners: "There's no point hanging someone out to dry over the goals, it's a collective thing here, but that's the second game in a row and it's reared its ugly head at other times this season and it's avoidable."
Garvan, who now misses next week's FA Cup tie at Watford, says he will make sure the same thing doesn't happen again: "I was getting frustrated at what was going on in the game and I let it get the better of me.
"I am really disappointed at what happened and that I lost my discipline and have to learn from it.
"I know I have let the lads and the manager down and I have to learn a lesson from this and make sure it doesn't happen again."
Leicester manager Rob Kelly was delighted with his side's first league victory at Portman Road in 19 years: "We've not had the best of times here over the last 20 years or so.
"It's a tough place to come but I though we deserved to win. I've got a great bunch of lads here but they wanted support and to be pushed, and so I'm delighted to have got two or three players in.
"This is traditionally a difficult place to come but these players don't skulk away. They come out and say 'let's have a go'.
"We're not getting carried away. But this is a hard division and anyone can beat anyone on their day. If you get past the 50-point mark you should be OK and half the teams in the division know that."
