Town boss Jim Magilton once again bemoaned his side's lack of a cutting edge as the Blues lost 1-0 at home to Wolves. The visitors' goal came from an error by full-back David Wright, however, his manager felt the mistake was uncharacteristic of the former Wigan man.
Magilton said: "We just lacked a cutting edge. We just need the ball to bobble off someone and go over the line. Once that happens it will give us confidence.
"It was ironic that Mr Dependable, who has not made a mistake since he joined us from Wigan, was responsible for the goal. He held his hands up in the dressing room. He didn't have a great game but I know I can depend on him in the next match.
"Once we get a result it will turn things around. We want something to happen and have been looking for a front pairing all season.
"The danger signs will be there if we stop being committed and stop pushing forward. That is not the case.
"We are in the results business, but I know what I am doing is the right way forward for this football club.
"There is no glory in defeat but we've got to keep believing in what we are doing. If I become disconsolate it will spread to my players.
"I can't fault the players' commitment and they just have to keep believing in themselves. We have to keep going, keep working hard until we get a break.
"I can take plenty of positives from the performance and thought Jon Walters and Alan Lee combined well, Owen Garvan got his foot on the ball when he came on and Danny Haynes looked sharp.
"We did everything but get the result. I know we are not far away and I've got to get them going again. I have got plenty of belief in my players and they have to pick themselves up and have belief in themselves."
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy felt his side's performance warranted the three points: "Just recently my team has been picking itself. The fundamental thing is that we must continue to win our games to keep us in with a chance of making the play-offs.
"I think we deserved to win and our goal was well taken. Ipswich had a really good spell after we scored but, although our goalkeeper had several shops to stop, he was not forced to make a save of the quality of the one that Lewis Price made from Kightly.
"We had some good spells but we also had some pretty poor spells when we gave the ball away and caused problems to ourselves."
