Season Ticket Prices Up - Ipswich Town News

Town have announced a 4% increase in adult season ticket prices for 2007/08, a rise the club say is below the current Retail Price Index but which covers an increase in running costs. Prices have been frozen for season ticket holders under 20-years-old.

The Blues are again running their Early Bird scheme with fans committing to season tickets before April 13th saving 25%. A lower North Stand or Greene King Stand season ticket which cost £354 before the Early Bird cut-off for the 2006/07 season will cost £368 before this year's deadline and £437 after it.

Town are again running their season ticket for the under-sevens in family areas priced at £23, while under-11s will pay £59 (prices both pre and post-Early Bird deadline), under-16s £103 pre-deadline and £123 post-April 13th and under-20s £210 pre and £246 post. All season ticket holders under 16-years-of-age will be given free membership of Town's junior membership club.

The club, who make no mention of any reductions should the unthinkable happen and Town are relegated, are continuing with their three-cheque interest-free payment scheme with payments spread over four months with the first due on April 30th.

Boss Jim Magilton says season ticket sales have a huge role in helping him to build his team: "It's the first time I have been involved in the season ticket campaign but I'm aware how important it is to our plans of adding to the squad - and building for the future.

"I urge the supporters to get behind the club and the players by signing up for next season.

"It's a team effort at this football club. Fans, players, coaches, staff, we're all in it together. It will be a team effort that will get us back to where we all want to be - the Premiership.”

Town's most expensive season ticket for 2007/08 is a seat in the Block D of the Cobbold Stand which costs £810 before the deadline and £943 after it.

The Blues have also announced match day tickets for next season with seats in the lower tier of the North Stand or Greene King Stand costing £22.50 if bought prior to the game and £25 on the gate.

Town are likely to be budgeting for a further drop in season ticket numbers after around 2,000 fans failed to renew last summer, the current total standing at around 16,000.
