LA Exit for Currie? - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Darren Currie is set for a trial with MLS side the LA Galaxy. Rumours regarding a move to Frank Yallop's club first surfaced earlier in the month but were denied by the former Brighton man, however, the 32-year-old will now spend two weeks trying to win himself a place alongside David Beckham on the Galaxy's roster.
Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Darren has not played as much football as he would have liked this season and is out of contract here in the summer.
"He's been a model professional in his time at Ipswich and when the request was made for him to go out there, we couldn't stand in his way.
"It's an exciting opportunity for him and he will go out to LA for two weeks and see how he gets on and we'll take it from there."
Currie will fly out to the US on Wednesday.
