Bramble Upset - Ipswich Town News

Titus Bramble has spoken about his omission from the England U21 squad. The Town defender would actually have missed the game at St Andrew's on Tuesday anyway as he suffered a calf injury during Saturday's game with Everton, but he still feels aggrieved at being left out.

Bramble said: "Naturally I'm a little bit upset about being left out. I feel I have been playing well for Ipswich Town in the top six of the Premiership which is the best League in the world."

He continued: "I have had no indication as to why I wasn't selected. I'm on stand-by but it is not the same as being named."

Richard Naylor has spoken of his frustration at his continuing injury problems. The Town striker is again on the sidelines with a knee injury after under going two operations in the summer and then suffering a leg fracture. He has also recently discovered that he has one leg shorter than the other which has added to his problems.

He is now to see Mark Bender, an Australian physiotherapist, who is an expert in biochemistry, to try to get back up and running. The Town striker has even worried that his career might come to an end due to the problems: "Before I went to see this specialist I was really down. For four or five days I was really concerned that I would not be able to to play football again."

However, after meeting Bender Naylor is more confident: "After speaking to Mark I'm determined to try even harder to get fit and give myself every chance of playing again."

Mark Bender has helped the likes of Pat Cash and some West Ham players with serious injuries in the past. He is very highly rated in his field. Naylor is confident that Bender's treatment will work and he is not contemplaing the consequences should this latest step not work: "I don't want to think about what would happen if this doesn't work. I may have surgery again but I'm not thinking about things not working. I'm being upbeat and I'm confident this guy can help."

This weekend's papers saw Town linked with three players (unless you've seen one we've missed). First up was Bournemouth's £800,000-rated defender Eddie Howe. He is apparently being tracked by Southampton and Middlesbrough too.

Next up was Amada Guevara of Mexican side Toros Mexico. We seem to remember him being linked in the summer too, but nothing happened then and we aren't expecting to hear anything more now. Guevara is a Honduran international midfielder.

The third link was Carlisle striker Scott Dobie. Apparently Town are involved in a chase with Celtic, Sunderland and Preston for the highly-rated player.

No too sure whether there is much truth in any of them, but we'll see...
