Douglas Linked - Ipswich Town News

Town are being linked with Luton striker Stuart Douglas, however Joe Kinnear has moved quickly to quash the rumour. £650,000-rated Douglas is currently out injured and with Mark Burchill signed only last week a move for another striker would be unlikely.

Joe Kinnear said: "It's news to me, no-one from Ipswich has spoken to me at all. I know George Burley very well and Ipswich have not even spoken to me, let alone made an offer to me."

More paper talk I reckon.

Town's U17s have practically won their Division after defeating their nearest opponents Spurs 3-1 at the weekend. They now find themselves eleven points ahead with four games to play.

Their goals were scored by Steve Burton, Antonio Murray and Ian Westlake. U17s coach Ian Smith said: "We know our first years are a credit to themselves but we had schoolboys out there and they did pretty well too."

The U19s lost their game 2-1 away at Watford with the Town goal coming from a trialist Stuart Beavon.
