Nilsson Trial - Ipswich Town News

Swedish sources are claiming that Giffarna Sundsvall defender Per Nilsson will be coming on trial with Town. The Swedish club claimed to have a 'co-operation' agreement with Town earlier this month, but Town played this down claiming they had merely exchanged a few ideas with the club as they have many others, although there was a possibilty that some young players might go on loan to the Swedish club.

At the time Nilsson was rumoured to be a Town target, although Giffarna sources said that they didn't feel that he'd be ready for the Premiership at the moment. The defender is one of the most highly rated youngsters in Sweden and recently made his full debut for the national side in a game against Finland.

Giffarna coach Anders Gronhagen said: "There is some truth in this as we have got a small co-operation agreement with them. They want him to come over for a trial soon, but we will see when it will happen. He is a really big talent and a quality player."

Certainly there is some form of agreement between the sides although the Swedes seem to think this a bit more formal than Town. Given this link a trial for their best player seems likely at some point. And from what we've heard from all the Swedish sources we've either spoken to or read Nilsson seems a very exciting prospect indeed.
