Rovers Still Want Jeffers - Ipswich Town News

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes says he wants striker Franny Jeffers to return to Ewood Park for the final month of the season. Jeffers is currently on loan with the Blues and scored the opening goal in Tuesday's 5-2 thrashing of Hull City.

Hughes says the one-time England striker's need to play matches was behind his decision to allow his one-month loan spell with Town: "I thought it was important for Franny to get some games under his belt.

"He's been a little bit unfortunate this season, in as much as Matt Derbyshire has come to the fore and done exceptionally well for me, so in the next month or so he probably wouldn't have got a great deal of football.

"He just wants to play. He's had a couple of years where he hasn't had a great deal of football, and I think it will benefit him if he gets some games under his belt.

"Then, for the last month or so, he can come back here and be an option for us."

Meanwhile, striker Jordan Rhodes is expected to return home from hospital today after being knocked out during yesterday's 4-1 reserves win at Ipswich Wanderers. The 17-year-old underwent scans but is thought to be fine to return to training on Friday ahead of the U18 game at Spurs on Saturday.
