Smith Called Up - Ipswich Town News

Academy defender Tommy Smith has been called up to the England squad for UEFA European U17 Championship elite qualifying round games with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Azerbaijan later this month. Smith won his first three caps for the U17s at last month's Algarve Tournament.

The qualifying round matches are being played in Bosnia with England facing the hosts on Friday, 23rd March, Azerbaijan two days later and Serbia on the following Wednesday.

Smith, who turned down the chance to play for New Zealand to commit to England, currently has a foot injury but should be fit enough to win further caps.
