England Action for Haynes - Ipswich Town News

Striker Danny Haynes is expected to win his second England U19 cap this evening when Brian Eastick's side take on Turkey in a friendly at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium. Haynes, who played his 50th Town game at Luton on Saturday, won his first cap in last month's 4-1 victory over Poland.

Haynes is the first of five Town players set for international action over the next week. Jaime Peters is with the Canada squad for two friendlies with Scotland they will use as preparation for this summer's FIFA U20 World Cup which they are hosting. The Town winger has been named one of six ambassadors for the tournament taking place in June and July.

The Canadians face the Scots for the first time on Saturday at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby and then again on Tuesday at the Royal Athletic Park in Victoria. Peters has already won 22 Canadian U20 caps in addition to his 12 full appearances.

Billy Clarke is in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for a friendly with Holland in Venlo next Tuesday. Clarke won his first U21 cap in last month's game against Slovakia at the Madeira tournament.

Defender Chris Casement has been included in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for a friendly in Romania on Saturday. Casement won his first U21 cap last month in a 4-0 home defeat to Wales.

Academy defender Tommy Smith in the England squad for UEFA European U17 Championship elite qualifying round games with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Azerbaijan. Smith won his first three caps for the U17s at last month's Algarve Tournament.

The qualifying round matches are being played in Bosnia with England facing the hosts on Friday, Azerbaijan on Sunday and Serbia on the following Wednesday.

Regular call-ups Alan Lee and Lewis Price were left out of the full Republic of Ireland and Wales squads, however, Alex Bruce is on standby for the Irish squad.
