Jim Charged - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton has been charged with using abusive and insulting words towards a match official during the Blues' 1-0 defeat at Preston earlier this month. Referee Mark Clattenburg sent the Town manager to the stand in the closing stages of the game at Deepdale.

The Town manager reacted angrily to Clattenburg adding only three minutes of injury time at the end of a second half in which there had been several stoppages.

Magilton made his thoughts known to the official as Preston prepared to take a late freekick close to the technical area and was sent to the unused terrace behind the dugouts.

After the game, Magilton commented: "Where did he get three minutes from at the end? We had three subs and two injuries and he's supposed to be the rising star."

Magilton has until April 4th to request a personal hearing.
