U18s Lose to Chelsea - Ipswich Town News
Town's U18s lost 4-1 at home to Chelsea on Saturday morning. Both sides fielded young teams mainly made up of U16 players.
The Blues' goal was scored by midfielder Matt Daniels, one of this summer's seven new academy scholars.
Other new scholars involved were strikers Jack Ainsley and Craig Calver, and defenders Joe Clemo and Paul Watson. Keeper Andy Plummer and midfielder Nathan Tooms were the only current academy full-timers involved.
Clemo and schoolboy Luke Hyam, another defender, were Town's stand-out performers.
