Shopping and Changing - Ipswich Town News
Town's December 18th home fixture with West Bromwich Albion has been moved to the day before with a 7.45pm kick off. Town have moved the last game prior to Christmas on several occasions in recent years citing the undeniable attractions of Saturday afternoon Christmas shopping as the reason.
Town interest in Charlton's Mike Salmon is still being reported, although a link with Aidan Davison is also hinted elsewhere. Grimsby 'keeper Davison, you may remember, was a bit of a controversial figure at Portman Road last year, irking the North Stand into singing a few rather ribald songs which certain local journalists took offence to.
The Northern Irish international has already had a spell at Town on loan at the end of the 1996/97 season. He made a few reserve appearances and was not offered a contract with Lee Bracey joining in his stead. Now it seems possible the roles might be reversed.
