Town to Appeal Red Card - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton says the Blues intend to appeal against Alex Bruce's red card during the first half of the 2-1 victory over Derby County. Bruce himself says he did nothing to warrant the 28th minute dismissal.

Magilton told the club site: "My first reaction was that it was harsh and I will have another look at it over the weekend.

"If Alex has been out order, I will fine him but if we think we have a case for appeal, we will do that."

Bruce added: "I thought it was a very harsh decision.

"I didn't commit any offence or raise my hands in any way, so I don't understand why I was sent off.

"I know I had problems with my disciplinary record earlier in the season, but I have worked very hard to sort that out and I feel hard done by on this occasion."

Derby manager Billy Davies has signalled their intention to appeal against Stephen Bywater's sending off in the same incident.
