Wright Backs Sven - Ipswich Town News

Town goalkeeper Richard Wright has backed Sven-Goran Eriksson to bring the good times back for the English national side. Wright was the only Town player included in the squad for the Spain game and was included on the bench, although he took no part in the game.

Wright said: "Look at those clubs who are doing well. They tend to be those who have had the same manager for a while and have stability."

This he sees as the key: "It is worth sticking with managers and I believe we should be patient with Sve-Goran Eriksson."

Eriksson will be at Portman Road on Sunday to watch Town's game with Bradford.

Town's youth schemes will receive a cheque for £514,157 from the Britannia Building Society on Sunday. The cash comes from the ITFC/Britannia accounts started in September 1998 and is the third such injection the club have received.

David Sheepshanks said: "We are delighted the save and support account has been so well received by our fans and thank them for their loyal support in making this considerable contribution to the club's youth activities possible."
