Derby After Jeffers? - Ipswich Town News
Derby County would be interested in signing Town loanee Franny Jeffers should they win promotion to the Premiership, according to a tabloid report.
Jeffers looks set to leave Blackburn over the summer with Blues boss Jim Magilton keen to make him a permanent member of his squad. The striker said last week that Town would be his first choice if Blackburn do allow him to move on.
The former Everton and Arsenal man is understood to be on a pay-as-you-play style deal at Ewood Park and would not therefore face a huge pay-cut if he joined the Blues.
Town's main opposition when trying to secure the one-time England international's signature may well come from sides promoted from the Championship wanting to add an experienced Premiership frontman to their squad.
Jeffers put in one of his best displays in a Town shirt during the 2-1 victory over the Rams last week, netting the first goal.
