Jim on Wright Move - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton has refused to either rule out or confirm Richard Wright's return to Town. TWTD understands that the Everton keeper will join the Blues on a free transfer in time to start pre-season training with the rest of the squad on June 12th.

Magilton said: "We are aware that Richard will be available in the summer. He is a player that will always be linked with Ipswich because of his close connections with the club."

Wright, who is apparently keen to return to the area and has not been offered a new deal at Goodison Park, was at Playford Road last Tuesday and even offered to add his signature to those of the current squad on one fan's shirt.

Meanwhile, a link with Hull City veteran Dean Windass has been dismissed, while Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder says Kieron Dyer isn't leaving St James' Park.

Reports late last week linked Spurs with a move for the England midfielder, but Roeder is keen to hold onto the 28-year-old. Town are understood to be due an undisclosed percentage of any profit the Magpies make on the £6.5 million they paid for Dyer when he left Portman Road in 1999.
