Price: I'll Leave - Ipswich Town News

Keeper Lewis Price has confirmed that he will probably leave Town when Richard Wright rejoins the club. Wright is close to completing his return to Portman Road on a free transfer from Everton.

Price says he has no new deal in place but at this stage of his career he would not want to play second fiddle to Wright: "If someone else comes in then I will have to consider my future. I have played a lot this season and feel I have done all right.”

The Wales keeper has a year left on his Town contract and would command a fee, probably somewhere in the region of £200,000-£300,000.

Meanwhile, boss Jim Magilton says he will speak to his players about his plans for them next week. The likes of Scott Barron, Martin Brittain and Sito are expected to be told they can leave, while youngsters Darryl Knights and James Krause are also likely to be on their way out of Portman Road. Darren Currie's time at Town will also come to an end over the summer.

Magilton says he will speak to each member of his squad: "We will have a review with every individual player and those surplus to requirements will be told then.”

The Town manager is reported to have hinted that there could be a shock departure. Perhaps the regular starter most likely to move on would be midfielder Gavin Williams.

The Welshman was made available by the Blues back in January after the Amsterdam trip and other incidents which were understood to have annoyed the Town management.

Williams, contracted until 2009, would probably fetch a fee in the high hundred-thousands, although the player himself has said he is keen to stay at Portman Road, as has striker Alan Lee, also tipped to leave in the wake of the Amsterdam furore.

We understand that there is some truth in reports of Town's renewed interest in Tommy Miller, a player who might be seen as a potential replacement for Williams should he move on. Miller is available on a free transfer having been released by Sunderland.

Less likely is the often repeated link with Titus Bramble who looks set to remain in the Premiership despite Newcastle's failure to offer him a new contract. National newspaper reports are again mention the former Town centre-half in connection with Portsmouth with his free transfer to Fratton Park said to be near to completion.
