Parnaby Linked - Ipswich Town News

Middlesbrough's Stuart Parnaby is the latest player to be linked with a summer move to the Blues. The 24-year-old has been released by Boro and is reported to be interesting the Blues and Everton.

Town seem unlikely to be after another player who is mainly considered a right-back having signed David Wright in January and with Fabian Wilnis at the club for another year. Irish youngster Michael Synnott also plays on the right of the defence and has been given 2007/08 in which to prove himself.

Meanwhile, boss Jim Magilton says his change of heart regarding a pre-season tour came as a result of the quality of the opposition at the tournament in Graz, Austria the club are considering taking part in.

The competition would see the Blues face an Italian Serie A side, a German Bundesliga team and an Austrian Bundesliga outfit, probably Sturm Graz. Further details are expected to be known next week.

Town have already set friendlies at Bury Town (July 27th) and Burton Albion (July 10th) with a game at Felixstowe and Walton also expected to be scheduled, along with a home friendly with Tottenham Hotspur and one other high profile side, perhaps Lazio who still owe the club a game as part of the Matteo Sereni deal.

As previously reported, local sides are being invited for sessions at Playford Road with Woodbridge Town and Leiston amongst them.

Meanwhile, keeper Lewis Price is set for a scan on his foot injury on Monday, according to reports in Wales. The Welsh have called Blackburn's Jason Brown into the squad as cover ahead of the games with New Zealand (May 26th) and the Czech Republic (June 2nd). Price hurt his foot during Town's game at Sheffield Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Riverhill Partners are understood to have been the company acting as intermediaries during Town's recent negotiations with Morley Fund Management regarding the write-down of the £28 million owed on the bond which built the new stands.

Riverhill are described on their website as "an independent corporate finance firm providing expert advice and negotiation support on all debt-related matters.”
