Blackburn Rovers have revealed that they have turned down an offer from the Blues for striker Franny Jeffers. Rovers are willing to allow the former Everton and Arsenal frontman to leave, but only at the right price.
Chairman John Williams said: "We have had an offer from Ipswich and Francis is keen to go there, but it's not at a level we deem to be acceptable at the moment.
"We have said that we are prepared to let Francis go, but they will have to meet our valuation of him."
Earlier in the week, reports claimed the Ewood Park club wanted a seven-figure fee for the 26-year-old, however, this merely looks like the first step in what may prove to be lengthy negotiations.
Town are likely to have made an offer somewhere in the low hundred-thousands for Jeffers, who has a year remaining of his Blackburn deal.
