Charlton: No Bent Bids - Ipswich Town News
Charlton chief executive Peter Varney says his club is yet to receive any bids for ex-Town striker Darren Bent. The Addicks have slapped a £15 million price tag on the 23-year-old, who has been linked with Spurs, West Ham, Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle already this summer.
Varney said: "Darren is a Charlton player and there have been no bids for him."
Town stand to gain 20% of the profit the Addicks make on the £2.6 million they paid the Blues for the frontman.
Bent himself has gone on holiday and says he doesn't expect his future to be decided until after he returns: "I'm just going to go away and get myself 100 per cent fit for next season and take it from there.”
Charlton seem certain to cash in on their prize asset this summer, with claims of a season-long loan move to Arsenal appearing highly unlikely.
