Lee Set for Coventry? - Ipswich Town News

Coventry City are being linked with a £400,000 summer bid for Town striker Alan Lee. The Republic of Ireland international has a year remaining on his Portman Road contract.

Lee was amongst the players who angered boss Jim Magilton by making an unauthorised trip to Amsterdam at Christmas and was understood to have been made available by the Town manager during the January transfer window.

Since then, both Magilton and Lee have played down speculation that the former Cardiff and Rotherham man might be on his way out of the club in the summer. However, with Jon Walters impressing after his move from Chester, the Blues boss may see Lee as a player he could sacrifice for the right fee as he looks to strengthen his squad during the close season.

Coventry are managed by Iain Dowie, one of Jim Magilton's best friends from their days playing together for Southampton and Northern Ireland.
