Krause Joins Rushden - Ipswich Town News

Released Town defender James Krause has agreed to join Rushden and Diamonds when his contract with the Blues is up at the end of the month. Krause will formally join the Conference club on July 1st.

Krause, a member of the 2005 FA Youth Cup-winning side, failed to make an appearance for the Town first team, but was named amongst the substitutes for the game away at Plymouth on the final day of the 2005/06 season. The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Carlisle.

Meanwhile, Darren Bent's future continues to be the subject of much tabloid debate. One paper claims the former Blue will snub West Ham's interest to join Spurs for £10 million.

Elsewhere, in another paper, a "Charlton source” is quoted as saying that the Addicks are looking for at least £15 million for the England man, a figure which is appearing increasingly frequently in stories relating to Bent.

However, the insider says that Spurs, West Ham and Liverpool are all interested in adding the 23-year-old to their squads and the price could be pushed as high as £20 million, although formal talks are yet to take place.

The source says that reports of Arsenal wanting to take Bent on a season-long loan are "absolute rubbish”.

With the Blues due 20% of the profit the Addicks make on the £2.6 million they paid for Bent, a £20 million fee would mean Town receiving a £3.48 million windfall.
