Jim: We Owe Wednesday - Ipswich Town News

Boss Jim Magilton says the Blues will be out for revenge when Sheffield Wednesday visit Portman Road on the first day of the new season, Saturday, August 11th. The Town manager, a former Owl in his playing days, is glad to be starting 2007/08 at home, but expects a difficult first month.

Magilton told the club site: "We do owe them after last season. They nicked the points at our place when we felt we played OK, we just didn't take our chances.

"Brian Laws has done a terrific job there and they finished strongly last season. I expect them to be one of the promotion contenders this year, so it will give us an early indication of where we are.

"Looking at the first month or so, it's a challenging start for us, but we will be ready for it.

"Being at home first game is always a positive, though. It should be a good crowd and the suppporters will be looking ahead to a new season full of expectation."
