Twenty20 for Town - Ipswich Town News

The Town squad will be in cricketing action on Wednesday, August 1st when they take on Ipswich and East Suffolk in Chantry Park. The game will be in the Twenty20 format.

Boss Jim Magilton says he is looking forward to donning his pads: "We played a similar game in 2003 to help Ipswich and East Suffolk celebrate their 150th anniversary.

"And we are looking forward to going back as we have some keen cricketers on our books. It is a free date in our pre-season calendar and we are looking ahead to a fun evening.”

Understood to be amongst the more expert willow-wielders in the Town squad is January signing David Wright, while Magilton and Matt Richards were in the side which played the previous match four years ago.

The game will start in the early evening with spectators welcome and car parking and refreshments available.
