Makin Deal Done - Ipswich Town News

Town have signed Chris Makin on a four year deal for £1.25 million the Blues revealed this afternoon. The new man will wear the number 36 shirt and goes into the squad for Saturday's game at Villa.

George Burley said of the new singing: "We are very pleased to secure the acquisition of a proven quality Premiership player. Chris has been a regular member of the Sunderland team over the last four seasons. He is a very accomplished defender who is quick, strong and has a great asset of being a good passer of the ball with either foot. I am sure Chris can fit in very well to our style of play and will be prove to be a tremendous acquisition to our club in the forthcoming seasons."

Makin himself added: "I had a great four years at Sunderland but it’s time for a new challenge. I’ve always admired the way Ipswich Town play football and I look forward to being part of their continuing success."
